Even as we get more and more technology, there’s something to be said about a good book, and even more to be said about reading to children. Even if your children are ready to read on their own, books and children flow together as well as eggs and ham.

The first story I ever read that made a connection with me was ‘Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King. About a week after reading the book at school we had to write an essay.

We all go through stages of our lives that we lose interest in some thing that we once enjoyed. There can be many reasons for the lose of interest. After all, we all go through changes in our lives that may cause this sudden disinterest.

This book is about a small girl called Matilda. She had a brother, Michael and her parents (Mr and Mrs. Wormwood).

Most of us can recall the pleasure that we experienced when we heard our parents or grandparents tell us stories. Enjoying stories is a basic human characteristic and almost all individuals of all ages like a good yarn.

Most parents feel frustrated when they start teaching their toddlers. The children look very sweet, but seem to become pests whenever it is time to study.

For bookworms, it is always a pleasure cuddle up in bed with a good book. A good book can be a great source of fun and entertainment. It’ll take you to places you’ve never been to and transport you to time periods you wish you can go back to.

Books are necessary in a child’s life. Books are introduced in the life of a child early in life to encourage the child to develop a good reading culture since there are different levels of learning that takes place through reading books. Children literature is very simple and easy to understand basing on the level of brain development and concentration they have.

We often find ourselves in situations where we have to give gifts to our loved ones. In such situations we are at a loss because we have to give something that is useful to the receiver and yet is not a mundane object that has almost no emotional value.

Standin’ tall was a series of twelve books, each titled a specific value such as work, cleanliness, gratitude, obedience, etc. Each tape told a dramatized story with catchy songs, and each book contained attractive illustrations to color, the words to the story, and other activities. Just the other day, I sang to my son some of the songs from the “Cleanliness” book while giving him his bath.

The prize winning trilogy originally titled “His Dark Materials” written by Philip Pullman was renamed to give it, what was obviously believed to be a more appropriate and catchy title, hard to argue with that one – If you are going to make a movie it helps to have a title that is probably going to catch the imagination and attention of your audience, particularly if they are young people. Not an unusual fate for any Author with a successful product on his/her hands.

There are literally thousands of different children’s books that you can choose from when you are looking to get something for your little boy or girl. When it comes to which books you get for your children at an early age, you won’t want to rush through and make a hasty decision.
